The cradle of Mokador Castellari coffee is the Italian Faenza - it was founded here in 1967 by Domenico Castellari, a great coffee lover. Mokador thus becomes a family business and Domenico himself oversees the selection of the best beans and personally roasted the coffee. He always tried to get his customers the best cup of coffee. Mokador still adheres to this philosophy of delivering coffee of the highest quality with personal client care. Mokador selects only the best plantations in the world. The Arabica variety, the most valuable and finest, is selected from plantations in tropical areas of Colombia, Guatemala and Costa Rica. The Robusta variety is selected from crops in Africa and Asia. Tasting at places of origin before boarding guarantees careful quality control. Masterful mixing creates a taste and olfactory balance between Arabica, which gives coffee softness, sweetness, creaminess, and Robusta, which gives espresso structure and body.
Mokador coffee is sold on all continents, in 25 countries, has Bureau Veritas ISO 9001 and Kosher - Le Pesach certificates. Mokador developed its corporate philosophy from quality and therefore wanted to achieve ISO9001 certification for its own company and a voluntary certificate issued by BVQL (International Certification Authority) and related to a specific product - a unique mixture for bars - GMM (Gran Miscela Mokador) and filter POD Top Quality. The importance of this certification concerns the formalization of Mokador's commitment to its own clientele and the response to the growing interest of consumers in quality products. Inspections and regular inspections by BVQI have confirmed the strict parameters adhered to by Mokador, as well as adherence to production procedures aimed at constantly improving the quality of coffee.
BVQI certificate (certificate 46/001) applies to:
separate roasting
– individual types of coffee are roasted separately to better enhance their organoleptic properties
air drying
– where the aroma of just roasted coffee beans is stabilized by means of a ventilation system for the best possible preservation of the aroma and aroma of just roasted coffee
proper compression
– proper dosing and compression will always guarantee the same quality of POD filter coffee

Since 2003, all types of MOKADOR coffee are kosher certified.
In 2019, the Mokador POD Top Quality filter won a gold medal at the International Coffee Tasting. Its composition consists almost exclusively of various types of Arabica coffee with a little Robusta coffee, which gives the coffee a unique intense and creamy taste with a delicate fruity aroma. This mixture is prepared in a changed atmosphere to guarantee the freshness and aroma of just roasted coffee even after a long time.
In September 2019, Mokador received the international DIN CERTCO certification for the compostability of Mokador coffee pods. This is a great success for the company. Only companies that have compostability certification can actually claim that their product is 100% compostable. The advantage of coffee pods is their 100% biodegradability, they are guaranteed to keep the coffee aroma inside, they prevent possible oxidation and they are compostable within 3 months. The coffee inside the capsules is 100% natural.
In September 2019, Mokador received 100% CERTIFIED GREEN ENERGY certification, which shows that 75% of the total energy consumed in Mokador's factories comes from renewable sources, which is good for environmental sustainability. The remaining 25% of the energy was produced through photovoltaic panels installed since 2010 and located in both Mokador factories.
In 2020, BIO Mokador coffee won the 100% Arabica Organic gold medal at the International Coffee Tasting. It is a blend obtained from the highest quality types of Arabica coffee, which give it a pleasantly delicate taste with a velvety structure. Thanks to its high quality, it has received the prestigious IT BIO 014 certificate.
